Perfect Wild Rice
Cook 1 lb of Wild Rice, use some now, save a bit in the frig for tomorrow night, freeze the leftovers for around a couple of months. You'll probably use it all up before then.
Ingredients
1 lb Minnesota/Canada Wild Rice
6 Cups Stock (Vegetable, Chicken, or Beef) or
Whatever stock you have plus water to make 6 cups
Directions
In a large crock pot, add rice and stock.
Turn power level to high and set timer for 2 hours. No need to stir or check till then.
After 2 hours check and stir then continue to check every 15 min.
Every crock pot is different, so write down your total time so next time you don't need to check it as often. My crock takes 2 1/2 hours. That's what I set my timer for.
You may want to slightly under cook it (-15 min or so) so when thawing and cooking into other dishes it won't be over cooked.
