Beautiful Burger Buns
Perfect for burgers but will also work with any other type of sandwich. Can be served as is or toasted. Can be toasted on the grill...(especially with butter!)

Ingredients
3/4 to 1 cup lukewarm water
2 T butter
1 large egg
3 1/2 cups King Arthur unbleached all purpose flour
1/4 c sugar
1 1/4 t salt
1 T yeast
(seasonal considerations for dough)
Topping - 3 T melted butter
Directions
1) Mix and knead all of the dough ingredients. Make a soft, smooth dough.
2) Cover the dough and let rise for up to 2 hours (needs to nearly double in size)
3) Gently deflate the dough and divide into 8 pieces. Shape to a ball and then flatter to about 3" across. Place the buns on a lightly greased or parchment lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for 1 hour (should be noticeably puffy)
4) Brush the buns with about half of the melted butter
5) Bake the buns ina preheated 375 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden. Remove from oven and brush with the rest of the melted butter.
6) Cool the buns on a rack.
Tip: Always let rise for the full amount of time. Make more by dividing equally into smaller portions. If you want a seed bun, use an eggwash and sprinkle with sesame seeds or seeds of your choice. The wash will make the seeds stick.
